David G. Williams | Senior Counsel

David Williams has extensive experience in a wide variety of complex real estate transactions, including the acquisition, sale and development of large commercial real estate assets and real estate portfolios; the representation of developers and lender in connection with closing and restructuring secured loan transactions; the formation of real estate funds; and the structuring and restructuring of partnerships and limited liability companies.

Recent transactions include representing the developer of a large mixed-use, public-private project on the Savannah River in Savannah, Georgia, handling the development of an apartment complex and certain public improvements in a TOD project with MARTA, forming a GP fund to provide capital for acquisition and development opportunities, representing the developer of an iconic apartment building on Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta, and closing multiple construction and permanent loans for large industrial warehouse developers in the Southeast.

Prior to joining Sheley, Hall & Williams, P.C., David was a partner at King & Spalding LLP for 11 years and a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP for two years. He began his career at Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum & Nagelberg, a boutique real estate law firm in Chicago.

David has served as an adjunct professor at Emory University Law School and serves on the board of directors of the nonprofit Fugees Family, Inc. based in Clarkson, Georgia and Columbus, Ohio.
